2010 BABIES
Currently Retained
"May"
Be Available At Later
Date
-Babies on this page are those who are at least temporarily retained until I can determine what kids I want to retain
in relation to this year's crop. They may be listed at a later date. If I decide to permanently retain them for the herd
their info will be moved from this page onto their respective breed page on the site. If listed for sale they'll then be
placed on the for sale page so this is in essence an "on hold" page before the decision is made. If you would like to
be notified if any the the below kids become available just email me. Prior to posting them on the sales page I will
send an email, in order of inquiries received, that the kid is going to be listed.

Rhythmic Acres Flame'n Fortune
-Mohagany Red W/ Black Markings, Random White, and Single Moonspot. Moonspot doesn't show up well in this
pic but is just up and behind the white on his belly. Moonspot developed few days after birth so not sure if more
are coming but he does carry his sire's moonspot genes then.

Look at this guy!!! He is just fabulously put together.  Unfortunately his ears are currently swollen from frost bite
as is one foot in these pics and we are holding him to see if he will be okay or not. If he fully recovers he will be
offered for sale for $400 firm . If he doesn't fully recover we will consider offers as this boy is beautifully put
together and his genetics should create some beautiful offspring even if he may be visually not show quality due
to frost bite damage.  His sire comes from great milking production lines and dam is the daughter of best udder
in state doe. He's got that natural "look at me show quality too".  I'm thinking it'll probably be mid March before
we have an idea of his degree of recovery and before he'll be available.

UPDATE: Flame has sustained frost bite "damage" to his lower ears. It appears he'll lose about a half inch of the
tips. For now he will be retained while he is on mom. If someone is interested in him please email me with an
offer and what he'll be used for. I'll continue to post updated pics of him as time passamoues so it is clear as to
the amount or lack thereof of visual damage due to the frost bite.

UPDATE 02-28-10: Well it's much worse then we thought as far as his foot and one ear. It looks like one ear
sustained about an 1" of frost bite from the bottom tip up. The leg looks quite bad currently in terms of amount of
frost bite. The hide above the left side of his hoof has peeled off as skin died and the hair has come off leaving
blue skin from the hoof to just above his pastern and ankle currently. No signs of infection and we are cleaning
and soaking it daily but have no idea of the degree he'll recover or if it will eventually become worse.

Below pics were taken Feb. 28th & then pics from March 9th. The hide came off from frost
bite. He was in the barn in a bed of straw when this occurred so assume it must have had to
do with his circulation in only being born a few days prior. His sister is/was fine.  If it
helps...Flame doesn't seem to be in too much pain as still hoping and rearing and twisting
when playing like most babies even with this. He gets it soaked in epsom salt twice daily,
washed with saline solution, it is then lightly dried, coated with EMT salve to promote healing,
and then wrapped with a non-stick wrap. He then gets a shot of penicillan to help prevent
infection. He'll most likely remain with us if this heals eventually.
ABOVE: Flame is having fun playing
with the other kids. He has to be kept
in a dry stall when outside so we bring
the other kids to him. He doesn't let his
healing foot get in the way! :)
